Investor Visas: EB-5
Typical paths to a green card include marriage, employment or asylum. Not surprisingly, money talks…foreign nationals can obtain a green card by investing in the creation of 10 full-time jobs or participate in the accredited Regional Center Program (develops real estate projects).
Advantages of the EB-5 Program (since 1996):
1. Investors are required to have either $500,000 or $1 million for each Green Card applicant plus expenses.
2. Investors in the accredited regional Center receive priority immigrant visa processing by USCIS, thus can obtain temporary Green Cards in about 1 to 1.5 years from the date of investment.
3. Investors do not have to reside in the same geographic area of investment.
4. Investors only need to have ownership in a partnership, thus passive partnership agreements will satisfy USCIS rules.
